Lois Faye Dubose, 94, of Gonzales, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017. Lois Faye was born November 8, 1922 in Gonzales County to Byron Eugene DuBose and Onnie Autry DuBose. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the XYZ’s of the First Baptist Church where she made many trips with her sister Josephine Johnson. Lois Faye grew up in the Hamon area helping her dad in the DuBose General Store. She attended school in Hamon before graduating from Gonzales High School with the Class of 1941. Lois Faye moved to Cuero to attend the Gulf Coast Business College and was hired to work as a civil servant in Cuero in 1945. She transferred to Ft. Sam Houston Army Base and finally retired from Civil Service at Kelly AFB after 43 years of dedicated service and ending her career as an inventory management specialist. Lois Faye enjoyed fishing, working puzzles and cheering on the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys. She was a generous woman and was especially generous with her nieces and nephews. Lois Faye never complained, she always saw the bright side of everything. She made friends easily, especially with those that lived near her in the apartment complex where she had touched many lives. Wherever Lois Faye was there was a simple abiding love, memories of which will endure for years to come. Lois Faye DuBose is survived by her sister-in-law, Norma Jean DuBose of Gonzales, brother-in-law, Chuck Lianza of Boerne and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Kenneth DuBose, Byron Eugene “Jack” DuBose, sisters, Mary Jane Lianza , Margaret Josephine Johnson and Onnie Ruth Trimble.
