Print
John Dean Warren, 93, of Gonzales, passed on to his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday February 11, 2017 closely attended by his dear friends J.B. and Lucille Lester. John was born June 11, 1923 in DeLeon, Texas to Murmon Lee and Ila Mae Solley Warren. He married Irene Minnie Mueller on March 14, 1953 in Rosenberg, TX. John was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church and Pipefitters Union 211. John grew up in DeLeon where his father worked for the railroad. Like many other kids he played football and baseball in high school before enlisting in the United States Army Air Corps in the midst of the fury of WWII. During his enlistment he helped build airstrips in the south pacific. His last days in the military were spent in Japan after the surrender. After his honorable discharge, John went to work for the Pipefitters Union 211 working to build refineries in Baytown and Houston until he retired in 1985. John loved to play dominoes, watch football and go dancing with his wife. John believed in working hard, be fair to others and do your very best to get by, simple principles that served him very well. John is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Ellen Warren of The Woodlands, grandchildren, Becky Warren Hudson, Lisa Warren Manuel and Larry Dean Warren, Jr., three great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, loving friends J.B. and Lucille Lester and a host of other friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, parents, a son, Larry Dean Warren, Sr., brothers, Niven L. and Paul J. Warren and a sister, Doris Warren Karasek. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Ildiko Rigney officiating. Interment services will follow at 2 p.m. in the Westhoff Cemetery. Pallbearers: Greg Ibrom, Steven Ibrom, John Lester, Jeff Lester, Paul Watkins and Marcus Warren. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday morning prior to the services in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
