Obituary for Geneva Adele Blundell

On Wednesday, June 14th, 2017, Geneva “Adele” Blundell went to her heavenly home. She was born November 18, 1924 to James Arthur and Theresa Rayne Smith in Gonzales County. Adele grew up in the country and graduated from Harwood High School. On March 25, 1944 she married Leslie Nile Blundell and they were blessed with three sons. She was a longtime member of Eastside Baptist Church. Adele was a devoted wife and mother, accepting her daughter in laws as her own. She was a loving grandmother who enjoyed cooking for her family and others. In addition, Adele was an avid Spurs fan and a meticulous record keeper. Adele was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters: Inez Haines, Eunice Haschke, Lucille Smith and Thelma Ruth Land; brothers: John A. “Cap” Smith, Morris ”Bo” Smith and David C. “Bill” Smith. She is survived by her sons: Wayne Blundell and wife Shirley of Dickinson, Glenn Blundell and wife Kathy of Fredericksburg and Garlan Blundell and wife Jane of Gonzales; Grandchildren: Lori Jones and husband Curtis, Denise Chambers and husband Robert, Shelda Trevino, Brian Blundell, Garrett Blundell and wife Camille, Jordan Blundell and Allison Blundell; Great-grandchildren: Kaleb Chambers and wife Michaela, Cody Chambers, PFC Jarrod Walker, Marisa Trevino, Braeden Walker, Peyton Trevino, Faith Blundell, Abigail Blundell, Katelyn Chambers, Morgan Jones, Caris Blundell, Conley Blundell and Blythe Blundell. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Interment to follow at the Woodmen of the World Cemetery. Pallbearers include Brian Blundell, Garrett Blundell, Jordan Blundell, Kaleb Chambers, Cody Chambers and Braeden Walker. Honorary pallbearers include PFC Jarrod Walker, Mike Kuck, Roy Halamicek, Ross Hendershot, Jene Dreyer and Donnie Petru. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Eastside Baptist Church. The Family would like to express sincere gratitude to Dr. Terry Eska and all those who provided care during Adele’s last days, especially the caring staff at Magnolia Living and Rehabilitation. Arrangements under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
