Charlene B. Leonard, 77, of Hallettsville, was called home to be with the Lord on March 16th, 2019 after losing her courageous battle against cancer. She was born on October 20th, 1941 to Rufus F. Reynolds and Velma J. Reynolds in Wichita, Kansas. Charlene enjoyed being outside and going for walks. She loved to eat good food, cook, read, work crossword puzzles, watch old westerns, and spend time with her family and friends. She was her family’s biggest fan. And most of all, she loved the Lord. Charlene worked in the aerospace industry for 31 years as an aircraft structure mechanic followed by 18 years in property management prior to enjoying her retirement. Charlene is preceded in death but her parents; step-mother, Erylene Reynolds; uncle, Uncle Merlin; aunt, Aunt Cricket; sister, Effie Davis; brother, Donald Reynolds; former husband and father of her children, Jimmie Leonard; sons, Jim & Jimmy Leonard, Chip Leonard; niece, Joyce Behrns. Left to treasure her memory is her: half-sister, Rose Sue Reynolds; son, Hank Leonard; daughter, Katrina Svetlik and husband Joseph Svetlik Jr.; daughter in law, Janet Leonard; grandson, Andrew Bowdre; granddaughter, Adara Svetlik; nieces, Judy Yoder, Janette Behrns, Jodine Adams; nephews, Dwayne Behrns Jr., Dale Behrns, Donald Reynolds Jr., Duane Reynolds, Darryl Reynolds, David Blakesly; great nieces, Jessica, Kayla, Kaitlyn; great nephews, Donnie Reynolds, Cody, Colton, Jacob, and Zachary and extended family. She also leaves behind 2 best friends, friends and neighbors, and her beloved cat, Cougar. A celebration of life and home gathering will be held at a later date.
