Barbara Ann McGown Gould, 74, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019. Barbara was born July 16, 1944 in Brownwood, TX to Johnny Ballard McGown and Anna Ruth Moore McGown. Barbara was a member of the Hochheim Baptist Church. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Anna Ruth McGown Hummel, Eris E. Hummel and Johnny B. McGown, a brother, Johnny Leon McGown and two husbands, Donald L. DuBose and Dalton D. Gould. Barbara graduated from Gonzales High School with the class of 1962. She particularly enjoyed being a part of the high school band. After high school she lived in Austin, Friendswood and then back to Gonzales in 1982 and was married to Donald from 1984 until his death in 2000, she then married Dalton Gould in 2002. She enjoyed trying her hand a little at painting and drawing and liked photography and creative computer projects using her photos. She loved her family and was proud of them. Barbara believed in God, Jesus, prayer and the promise of heaven. Barbara is survived by her adoring children: Jimmy and his wife Linda Read, Deborah and her husband Ted Dennis, Rebecca and her husband Dennis Welch, step-children, Ken and his wife Tamra DuBose, Greg DuBose and Gary and his wife Shari Gould. Five grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, several great grandchildren and 6 honorary grandsons and their families in Mozambique. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019 in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. A Life Celebration Service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jimmy Read, Ken DuBose, Greg DuBose, Dakota DuBose, Calvin Welch and Grant Dennis. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, www.mda.org/Donate, or the Gonzales EMS / Rescue, 1703 Saint Joseph, Gonzales, Texas 78629.
