Obituary for William Maurice Breitschopf

William Maurice Breitschopf known as Reesie by family and friends was born on September 1, 1958 in Gonzales Texas to William Richard and JoAnn (Bullard) Breitschopf. He grew up in Gonzales, graduating from Gonzales High School in 1976. After graduation he attended Technical School in Waco Texas studying diesel mechanics. He joined the Army and became a track vehicle mechanic at Fort Knox Kentucky. He was a member of the Army National Guard for 6 years. He worked a variety of jobs over his lifetime, butcher and barbecuing at the family owned Breitschopf Grocery and Market, mechanic with Ford Motor Co., oilfield with Nowsco, Halliburton, Western Co. of NA and South Texas Tongs, truck driver long and short haul, bread delivery man with Richter s Bakery, and salesman, and he enjoyed all of them. His final job was with Johnson Oil Company. At various times he has lived in Waco Texas, Knoxville Kentucky, Victoria Texas, LaGrange Texas and back to Gonzales where he settled down to raise a family. He was blessed with 3 children, Holly, Doug and Garrett Breitschopf. He loved travelling and camping, visiting New Mexico, Las Vegas and various state parks in the great state of Texas. He was a Boy Scout leader, never missing a meeting or campout telling stories, guiding or just listening. He always gave 110% to whatever he was doing whether it was learning a new skill or supporting family. He enjoyed supporting his kids in their sports activities and theatre. He especially enjoyed cooking and barbecuing for family and friends. He was always there to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was always upbeat but didn t hesitate to tell you like it was and he was usually right. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie and Hattie Breitschopf, Claud and Pauline Bullard; father William R. Breitschopf; and father in law Ray Beeson. He is survived by his wife, Mandy Breitschopf; mother JoAnn Breitschopf; sister Cindy Davis of Gonzales; two brothers David of Three Rivers and Tim Breitschopf (Lisa) of Caldwell; three children Holly, Doug and Garrett Breitschopf; grandchildren Lane, Tyler, Tinsley, and Rayder Breitschopf; mother in law Jeanette Beeson of Victoria; sister in laws Cindy Cotner of Rockport and Kim Pillatzke (Brian) of Enid OK; brother in law Porter Beeson of Victoria; nieces Fallyn Williamson, Lacey Salazar, Whitney Breitschopf, Zandi Dunaho, Chelsi Woolsley, Cheyenne and Sievera Pillatzke; nephews Brandon Thibodaux, Ty Breitschopf, Hunter Graves, and Avery Pillatzke; grand nephews Cainon and Raistlin Dunaho and 7 more great nieces and nephews His family would like to thank the Elora Hospice and The Heights Nursing Home for making his transition from earth to heaven as comfortable as possible and for the support given to all of his family.
