Walter Erwin Othold, 89, of Gonzales, Texas passed away Friday, October 4, 2013 at The Heights of Gonzales in Gonzales, Texas. Funeral Services are under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas and will be held at 11am on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the Buffington Funeral Home Chapel in Gonzales, Texas with Pastor Ildiko Rigney officiating. Interment will follow at the Shiner City Cemetery in Shiner, Texas. There will be a Visitation on Monday, October 7, 2013 from 9 am ~ 9 pm at the Buffington Funeral Home Chapel in Gonzales, Texas. Walter Erwin Othold was born in Shiner, Texas on December 5, 1923. He was the son of Fritz and Meta (Pieper) Othold. Walter enjoyed woodworking, HO Scale Model Trains, furniture making and playing dominoes. Walter is survived by three nephews; David Othold and his wife, Tandy of Houston, Texas, James Othold and his wife, Patty of Houston, Texas, Kenneth Othold of College Station, two nieces; Linda Fortie and her husband, Bruce of Magnolia, Texas, Anna Othold of Washington, DC, numerous nephews and nieces, and very special and compassionate caregivers; Ellen and Rusty Lehnert. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fritz and Meta Othold, two brothers; Alton Othold and Weldon Othold.
