Vernon Ray Malaer, 69, of Gonzales, passed away Friday, May 8, 2020. He was born March 7, 1951 in Gonzales, Texas to Margaret Emily Glover and Olen Alex Malaer, Sr.

Vernon is survived by his daughter, Megan Layne Martinez and fiancé Francisco Hernandez of Bryan, sons, Vernon Ray “Bubba” Malaer, Jr. and wife Valarie of Giddings, William Alex “Billy” Malaer and wife Kimberly of Luling, 10 grandchildren, sister, Patricia Govett of Seguin, brothers, Olen Malaer, Jr. and wife Margie of Gonzales, Albert Malaer and wife Doris of Port Lavaca, David Malaer and wife Margaret of Gonzales, sister-in-law, Linda Wulf Malaer of Waelder, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roy Malaer.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 18, 2020 at 10:00 AM in the Harwood Cemetery with Pastor Ildiko Rigney officiating. Honorary pallbearers include: Lee Baker, Raymond Malatek, Ross Hendershot, James Lassig, Pete Peterman, Benny Davis, Richard Caka, Jason Cook, and Ralph Camarillo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Friends may leave their condolences by visiting Arrangements are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
