Obituary for Tomas Velasquez Molina

Tomas Velasquez Molina, 85, of Gonzales, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 14 2016 at Gonzales Memorial Hospital in Gonzales, Texas. Funeral Mass is under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas and will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gonzales, Texas with Father Paul Raaz officiating. Interment will follow at Saint James Catholic Cemetery in Gonzales, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Buffington Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Terry Brennan officiating. Tomas was born on December 21, 1930 in Gonzales, Texas. He was the son of Juan Molina and Lucia (Velasquez) Velasquez. He was married to Frances Guerrero. Tomas liked to go hunting, fishing and dancing. In his younger years, and in his later years, he liked having conversations and making people laugh. Tomas enjoyed telling stories, and it has been said that he could spin some yarns. Tomas worked for Southern Clay. Tomas was a hard worker who loved and cared for his family. Tomas is survived by three sons; Thomas Molina of Mount Prospect,IL., Louis Molina of Gonzales, TX., Henry Molina of Gonzales, TX., three daughters; Elida Griffin of Gonzales, TX., Delia Castillo and her husband, Manuel of Gonzales, TX., Elaine Buchanan of Tyler, TX., three sisters; Jesusa Almaraz of Waelder, TX., Juanita Olmos of Gonzales, TX. Aniceta Perales of Slaton, TX., fourteen grandchildren, and twenty-four Great-Grandchildren, one brother-in-law; Frank Guerrero of Crystal City, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents; Juan and Lucia Velasquez, his loving wife, Frances G. Molina,two sisters; Condelaria Perez, Teresa Molina, three brothers; Candido Molina, Fructoso Molina, and Jose Molina. Pallbearers for Mr. Molina will be; Thomas Molina, Louis Molina, Henry Molina, Michael Griffin, Jonathan Griffin, and Robert Garcia. Honorary pallbearer will be; Cosme Molina.
