Sylvia Ann Riojas, age 57, of Gonzales, Texas passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021. Sylvia was born August 26, 1964 in Gonzales, Texas to Rita Zamora and Guadalupe Riojas. Sylvia graduated from Gonzales High School in 1982. She then went to work as a promoter for the radio station named Tejano Lippz. While working there, she accomplished her most memorable achievement, winning top 5 promoter of the year. She was a great woman who had a big heart; always helping anyone out. Sylvia especially had a even bigger heart, full of love for her kids and grandsons. Her passion was music. She really loved it. If she was having a bad day, she would turn the music up. Sylvia is survived by her husband, Alfredo Ugarte; her sons Steven Riojas and John Ugarate; and her daughter Ana Ugarte. She is also survived by her grandsons Marcus Jay Ugarte, Steven Daniel Riojas, John King Ugarte and Isaiah Thomas Riojas. Sylvia was preceded in death by her mother Rita Zamora and father Guadalupe Riojas; and her brother Stephen Riojas. Visitation for Sylvia will be held Monday, October 4th from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Buffington Funeral Home, 424 Saint Peter St, Gonzales, Texas. A rosary will be said for Sylvia on Monday, October 4th at 6:00 PM, at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will occur on Tuesday, October 5th, at 10:00 AM, at Oso Cemetery, Cost, Texas. Interment will follow the service Tuesday, October 5th at Oso Cemetery.
