Obituary for Susan Laverne "Sue" Wilkinson (Friberg)
Susan Laverne Friberg Wilkinson, of Gonzales, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday morning May 9, 2020 after a hard fought second battle with cancer.
Sue was born September 3, 1952, daughter of Phil and Sally Friberg. She grew up in Gonzales with brother, Mike Friberg and sisters Mary Anne and Kay. She graduated from Gonzales High School in 1970.
Sue Married Marvin Wilkinson of Gonzales in 1975 where they lived until 1988 with the exception of 2 years in Beaumont, TX. In 1988 Marvin and Sue moved to Huntsville where they lived until both retired in 2011. They then spent several years in East Texas before returning to Gonzales in February of 2015. Sue truly enjoyed being back home, living in the country and reconnecting with many old friends and making new ones.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents, sister Kay, and infant brother, Patrick. Left to honor her memory is her husband Marvin, brother Mike of Ratcliff TX, sister Mary Ann of Kennard TX, son Pat of Ratcliff TX, son Jeff and daughter in law Ronni of Gonzales, and grand children Hayley, Heather and Jacob of Gonzales, and Phillip and Edwin of Ratcliff TX.
Sue’s family is grateful she was able to spend her last days at home under the compassionate care of Elara Caring Home Hospice and her special lifelong friend TJ Newberry.
A Celebration of Sue’s Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, Gonzales, TX.
