Obituary for Pedro Montoya "Pete" Cedillo
Pedro (Pete) Montoya Cedillo, of Waelder, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at the age of 74. He was born on April 27, 1948, in Waelder, to Pilar Montoya and Richard Cedillo.
Growing up, Pete had a passion for music. He played in various music groups and wrote songs. Music was always a part of Pete’s life.
Pete is survived by his daughters, Laura Cedillo-Rodriguez and husband Pete of Pearland, Lydia Cedillo-Vasquez and husband Sabas of Richmond, and Brittney Cedillo-Jackson and husband JaCorey of Katy, sons, Larry Cedillo and wife Dolores of Houston, and Pete Cedillo, II of San Antonio, sisters, Alice Rincon and husband Joe, Maria Cedillo and husband Danny, and Sally Cedillo, brothers, Richard Cedillo, Felix Cedillo and wife Ofelia, Daniel Cedillo and wife Norma, Cruz Cedillo and wife Linda, 11 grandchildren and 1 on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Pauline, Ofelia, and Mauricia, and brothers Joe and Nasario “Chalo”.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the Waelder First Baptist Church. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 10:30 AM in the Waelder First Baptist Church, with Rev. Sabas Vasquez officiating. Interment will follow in the Waelder Community Cemetery. Pallbearers include his grandsons: Adrian and Tristan Cedillo, Alexander, Andrew, and Anthony Vasquez, and David Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearer will be his grandson, Brandon Jackson.
