Paulette LaVern Frye Malatek, 76, of Gonzales, passed away Monday, July 22, 2019. She was born May 14, 1943 in New Braunfels, Texas. She was the daughter of Paul M. and Irene Pape Frye. She married Edmund Michael “Skinny” Malatek on January 19, 1963 in Gonzales. She was a teacher’s aide with the G.I.S.D. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She is survived by her granddaughters Erica Gonzalez and husband Rafael and Michaela Malatek all of Gonzales; great-grandchildren: Conrad Canales, Isabelle Gonzalez and Madelynn Gonzalez; sisters Leila Board, Birdie Karl and Callie Neely, all of New Braunfels. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Dwayne “Skinny” Malatek. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 24 at Seydler-Hill funeral Home. A prayer vigil will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019 at St. James Catholic Church with Reverend Mike Peinemann officiating. Interment will follow at Gonzales Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Rafael Gonzalez, Robert Rodriguez, Glenn Glass, Bobby Avant, Ken DuBose, Gary Malatek and Conrad Canales.
