Obituary for Nancy Sue Martin (McKinzie)

Nancy Sue Martin, of Gonzales, passed away Monday, April 27, 2020 at the age of 76. She was born September 20, 1943 in Temple, Texas to Joel Feldon and Emma Bell (Sallie) Hewitt McKinzie.

Nancy was a cafeteria chef for GISD. With that, came a love for preparing meals and baking. She was famous for her chocolate cake and fresh baked bread. Nancy was also an excellent seamstress. When she wasn’t coloring with her great-granddaughter, Nancy would be found sewing an abundance of doll clothes for her. She thoroughly enjoyed that, along with her highly delighted Wal-Mart shopping trips.

Nancy was survived by her daughter, Sheryl Breitschopf (Dennis) of Gonzales, son, Michael Breitschopf of Seguin, sister, Mary Lou Sturgill of Arkansas, brother, Buddy McKinzie of San Antonio, grandchildren, Jeffery Breitschopf (Claire), Chris Kalina (Dusty), Chelsey Kalina (Benji), great-grandchildren, Delaynee Kalina, Liam Kalina, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and son, Richard Allen Breitschopf.

The family wishes to protect their friends and loved ones by adhering to the city and county restrictions on mass gatherings concerning limiting the exposure to COVID-19. Funeral services will be private and for immediate family only. A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2020 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
