Obituary for Michael Henry Hidalgo
Michael “Boy” Henry Hidalgo passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022, at the age of 63 at his residence in Austin, Texas. He was born February 8, 1959, in Gonzales, to Raul Ornelas Hidalgo and Grace Rodriguez Hidalgo.
He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, and a beloved friend to many. He worked as a mechanic for most of his life, his work brought him joy and he had a passion for helping others in need. Michael had an admirable character and a heart-warming smile that made everyone's day better. He was an active member of the Legion of Mary, and he was also a member at the VFW (Post 8925) in Austin, TX . He loved being out on the river on sunny days and playing pool with friends. Michael will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
Michael Henry Hidalgo is preceded in death by his parents Raul Ornelas Hidalgo and Grace Rodriguez Hidalgo, and his loving wife Stella DelBosque Hidalgo. He is survived by his daughter Roxie Contreras from Gonzales, TX and his grandchildren Xavier Villanueva, Dominique Villanueva, and Kyla Contreras. He is also survived by his siblings Ron Hidalgo (Stella) from Austin, TX and Rebecca Anna Hidalgo, his half-siblings Rosendo Hidalgo, Raul Hidalgo, Jr. (Susan), Susanna Hidalgo and Eloisa Hidalgo; his nephews Greg Hidalgo (Desiree) and Dwayne Hidalgo (Irene), his grand-nephews Diego Hidalgo, Isaiah Hidalgo. Gabriel Gallardo, and grand-niece Sarah Grace Hidalgo.
Honorary Pallbearers include Ron Hidalgo, Raul Hidalgo, Dwayne Hidalgo, Gregory Hidalgo, Pete Lopez, and Manny Manchaca.
A memorial service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gonzales, TX on Monday, September 12, 2022 at 10:00am.
There will be another memorial service held at a later date at San Jose Catholic Church in Austin, TX.
