Obituary for Melvin "Bubba" Gene Roecker
Melvin (Bubba) Gene Roecker, 87, of Seguin, Tx, passed away Sunday July 4th, 2021. Melvin was born on December 12, 1933, in Gonzales, Tx to Willie Roecker and Dina Mary Elizabeth Esse Roecker. He married Sarah G. Krause on January 11, 1943, in the Belmont Methodist Church.
Melvin worked as a pipeline superintendent for forty years before he retired in Belmont, Tx to work a small ranch. He loved to tinker and could fix anything. In later years he and Sarah moved to Seguin to relax and spend more time with family. He loved to joke around and pester the grandkids and great grandkids. He will be greatly missed.
Bubba is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years Sarah G. Roecker, his three children, Sharon A. Edwards, husband Richard, Michael G. Roecker, wife Ruth, and Dennis L. Roecker, wife Carol, 11 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers, Henry, Edwin, Morris, and Ernest (Butch) Roecker, and four sisters, Mary Ann, Olthea, Bertha and Elvira.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 7th from 9 to 10 am in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 10 am in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Belmont Cemetery, Belmont, Tx. Pallbearers: Paul Roecker, Casey Roecker, Ryan Roecker, Jordan Parrack, Jason Roecker, Todd Edward, Tony Flores, and Nick Enghardt.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Belmont United Methodist, P.O. Box 906 Belmont, Tx 78604, Hope Hospice, 611 N Walnut Ave, New Braunfels, TX 78130, Brazos Valley Hospice, 1048 N Jefferson St, La Grange, TX 78945 or the charity of one’s choice. Services are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
