Obituary for Mary C. Carrizales (Camarillo)

Mary Carrizales, 88, of Gonzales, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020. She was born April 28, 1932 in Gonzales the daughter of Secundino and Petra Maldonado Camarillo. She married Pete Carrizales on May 3, 1953 in Gonzales. She was a dietary aide with Warm Springs Hospital and retired after many years of dedicated service.

She was a very devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed shopping with her daughters at the Market Square in San Antonio, dancing with her husband Pete and going out to eat. Most of all she treasured time spent with her husband, children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters: Emily Reyes and husband Bennie and Elsa Steen and husband Don all of San Antonio; son Peter Carrizales Sr. and wife Yolanda of Round Rock; sisters: Molly Steen and Calala Hidalgo both of Gonzales; brother Johnny Camarillo and wife Ida of Floresville; grandchildren: Gabrielle Reyes, Bennie Reyes III, Joshua Reyes, Danielle Reyes, Jessica Molina, Johnathan Molina, Kathrine Molina, Peter Carrizales Jr., Monica Carrizales and David Carrizales. Also surviving are 18 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Joe Camarillo and Mayo Camarillo and sister Helen Morales.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 17, 2020 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2020 at St. James Catholic Church with Reverend Paul Raaz officiating. Interment will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Johnathan Molina, David Carrizales, Peter Carrizales Jr., Bennie Reyes III, Joshua Reyes and Triston Ramos.

Due to current CDC, State and local mandates, protective measures regarding social distancing, limited attendance capacity, and use of personal protective masks will be required for the visitation, church service and graveside burial rite.
