Obituary for Maria G. Sixtos

Maria G. (Garza) Sixtos, 89, of Hallettsville, Texas passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Mass is under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas and will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Saint James Catholic Church in Gonzales, Texas with Father Jason Martini officiating. Interment will follow at Saint James Catholic Cemetery in Gonzales, Texas. Visitation will be Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Buffington Funeral Home with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm. Maria was born on August 1, 1931 in Westoff, Texas. She was the daughter of Roberto and Juanita (Aleman) Garza. Maria married Macario Sixtos, . Sr. in 1948 in Big Springs, Texas. She loved playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked doing crossword puzzles and word search. Maria liked to sew and make flour tortillas. She was faithful to her religion, and said her prayers daily. She would bless all visitors as they were leaving her home. Maria would call her family on their birthdays and sing happy Birthday to them in Spanish. Maria is survived by one son; Macario Sixtos, Jr. and his wife, Maria E. of Richmond, Texas, four daughters; Maria A. Inosencio and her husband, Juan of Hallettsville, Texas, Rosa L. Sixtos-Hance and her husband, Jeffrey of Katy, Texas, Janie Monge and her husband, Misael of Richmond, Texas, Vickie Bautista of Cuero, Texas, twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Roberto and Juanita Garza, her loving husband, Macario, Sixtos, Sr., two sons; Luis Sixtos, Martin Sixtos, one daughter; Mary Ann Sixtos, five brothers; Roberto Garza, Ismael Garza, Andres Garza, Jose Garza, Francisco Garza, Sr., three sisters; Dora Mendez, Josefa Banda, and Elvira Villisano. Pallbearers for Mrs. Sixtos will be; John Torres, Jr., wayne Torres, Pete Torres, James Monge, Armondo Rendo, Jr., and Nickolas Bautista.
