Obituary for Marcus Lee Padilla

Marcus Lee Padilla, 45, of Gonzales, was called home to our lord and savior on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 11:33pm. He is being welcomed into his heavenly home by his father, Andrew Otto Padilla. Marcus was born on January 13, 1972 to Andrew and Sylvia Padilla. Marcus attended Gonzales ISD schools and eventually received his GED. He later continued his education and obtained his CDL working as a truck driver. Marcus was known to be book smart and through life s challenges, he learned to be street smart as well. Although Marcus made some bad choices and decisions throughout his life s journey, he always put his family first. Marcus was known to enjoy the music of old school musicians such as, Augustine Ramirez and Little Joe, as wells old school 70 s rock and roll. He was also known to be an adamant 49 ers fan. Marcus is survived by his loving mother Sylvia G. Banda and stepfather Richard Banda Sr. of Gonzales, sisters Lisa Ann Hernandez and husband Daniel Hernandez of Pflugerville, JoAnn Padilla and husband Domingo Proa Sr. of Gonzales. He also leave behind to treasure his memory his nieces, Andrea Marie Villareal and fiancé Erik Gonzalez, Mariah Danielle Hernandez and husband Eleazar Martinez, nephews Domingo Andrew Proa Jr. and Daniel Andrew Hernandez along with his great nephew Benjamin Iker Martinez. Services will be under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home on Thursday, December 14, 2017, with a viewing at noon and Rosary beginning at 7pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 with Father Paul Raaz officiating at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 2pm. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery. Pallbearers are as follows: Robert Bobby Padilla; Bennie Reyes Jr.; Fernando Cansino; John Angel Navejar; Charles Chuck Hubbard; Mario Rios. Honorary Pallbearers include his nephews, Domingo Andrew Proa Jr. and Daniel Andrew Hernandez along with his long-time childhood friend Mario Rios.
