Obituary for Lydia Perez Rice
Lydia P. Rice, 74, of Gonzales, Texas, previously from Houston, Texas was born March 1, 1947, in Simonton, TX to Evaristo Perez and Maria Godin Perez, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021.
Lydia loved dancing, gardening and being with family. She worked for Gulf Oil for a number of years in accounting before retiring to the family farm.
Lydia is preceded in death by her loving husband Thomas Rice, her parents; Evaristo and Maria Perez and 5 siblings; Frank Perez, Phylis Perez, Dora Ramirez, Vanie Carranza and Angel Perez.
She is survived by, a daughter, Nancy Seay and husband Kenneth, of Fort Worth, TX, and a son, Thomas "Butch" E. Rice and wife Donna, of Cedar Park, TX. 11 siblings; Maria Zuckero, Evaristo Perez Jr, Ninfa Umanzor, Abel Perez, Vlasta Chevez, Margie Mullins, Ester Packer, Gilbert Perez, Theresa Griffin, John Perez and Anothony Perez.
Lydia was a grandmother to 7, great grandmother to 11, and great-great grandmother to 7 grandchildren and leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends Sunday, July 25, 2021 in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 26, 2021 in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Monthalia United Methodist Cemetery. Pallbearers: Gilbert Perez, Frankie Perez, Johnny Perez, Kyle Tedder, Cody Cook, and Buddy Godfrey.
