Obituary

Louise Rossow, of Cost, passed away Monday, March 16, 2020 at the age of 96. She was born March 3, 1924 in Gonzales County to Steve and Ida Wiley Dedear. She married George Emil Rossow on September 28, 1940 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Louise was a member of the Texas Extension Home Makers Association, the Monthalia Methodist Church and a 4-H Leader for many years.
Louise loved to travel, and she marveled at the sights she saw. She was awe struck with the beauty she found in Hawaii while traveling with her son. Louise also enjoyed gambling and could make twenty dollars last all day. Her love for family and friends surpassed her own desires as she always kept her house and refrigerator door open for visitors. She was a homemaker who filled her home with an abundance of love and memories that will be cherished for generations.
Louise is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Bunyard Behlen and husband Ronnie of Cost, JoAnn Low and husband Billy Bob of Cost, son, Mike Rossow and wife Jane of Gonzales, sisters, Ruby Flowers of San Antonio and Barbara Owens of Milton, Florida, brothers, J.U. Dedear and wife Melene of Burnett, Jim Dedear of Corpus Christi, 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George of 70 years, her parents, sister Ineta Czech, and grandson Jimmy Jurek.
The family wishes to protect their friends and loved ones by adhering to the city and county restrictions on mass gatherings concerning limiting the exposure to COVID-19. Funeral services will be private and for immediate family only. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. for family only and 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. for the general public while limiting attendees to 50 people in the Seydler-Hill Funeral Home Chapel at time. A private funeral service will be held Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 10 a.m. in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Monthalia Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers include: George Jurek, Bobby Jurek, Greg Miller, Mike Miller, Michael Rossow, and Pat Davis. Honorary pallbearers: David Low, Wayne Low, Steve Dedear, Tim Dedear, and Tony Powers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the: Monthalia Methodist Church or the Monthalia Lutheran Cemetery.
