Obituary for Liddie Leola Martin (Baker)
Liddie Leola Baker Martin,92, of Maypearl, Texas, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021. She was born on March 6, 1929 to Harvey and Liddie Bell Stockton Baker. She was the oldest of three children born to the marriage.
On August 26, 1946 she married the love of her life, Barney Amos Martin. They had two sons, Larry Wayne and Donald Lee. For years she and the boys traveled with Barney to many locations while he woked for Mobil. For 35 years she worked as a beautician and continued until they retired in Edna,Texas In 1990 they moved back home to Gonzales, Texas to enjoy the rest of their lives together. In 2001 after Barney passed away she moved to Maypearl, Texas with her son Don and daughter in law Debbie, where she resided until her death.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Jesse James Baker and wife Della, sister Jean Oates, loving husband Barney Amos Martin, son Larry Wayne Martin and grandson James Amos Martin.
She is survived her son Donald Lee Martin and wife Debbie of Maypearl; granddaughters: Jennifer LeAnn Martin and wife Tammy of Lufkin, Cindy Martin of Abilene, Julie and Jay Bowers of Justin and grandson Robert and Laurie Martin of Caddo Mills. Great-grandchildren: Kayla Buch, Ashton Lane and Graycen McKenzie Martin, Annabelle Faith, Evelyn Grace and Liam John Bowers, Stonewall Martin and Avery Martin. Great-great grandchildren: Kali and Wyatt Buch; daughter in law Rhonda Martin of Houston as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include: Robert Klinksiek, Randal Hadley, Jason MacIntosh, William Heller, Will Buch and Ashton Martin.
