Obituary for Kathleen Gaye Caddell (Copeland)
Kathleen (Kathy) Gaye Copeland Caddell, 66, of Gonzales, passed away January 2022. Kathy was born August 28, 1955 in Austin to Helen Elkins and Rubin Copeland. She graduated from Crockett High School in Austin in 1973. Kathy married James “Jimmy” Caddell on January 13, 1995 in Las Vegas.
Kathy never met a stranger. She would chat with anyone and everyone while smoking a cigarette and drinking a diet coke. Her children fondly remember her for back scratches and chocolate cheesecakes made with love (and extra pecans). Kathy enjoyed serving the community as a volunteer with the Gonzales Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.
Kathleen Caddell is survived by her children Adam Wagner (Maggie) and Misty Humphrey (Jason); step-children Stacy Scott (Steve), Kim Mica (Randy), Crissy Jo Filla (Will), Justin Caddell; grandchildren, Annie Wagner, Lukas Wagner, Caedmon Humphrey, Zoe Humphrey, Bobby Scott (Alicia), Jacob Scott, Darren Mica, Michael Mica, Devin Taylor, Wyatt Caddell, Jace Caddell; great-grandchildren, Trinity Mica and Zoey Mica; and her bonus family Monica and Keith Garner, Josh Landi, and Brian Dolezal. She has now joined her husband Jimmy at the great fish fry in the sky.
A memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gonzales Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary fund.
