Julia DeLeon Soto, 88, of Gonzales, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019. She was born February 16, 1931 in Wrightsboro, the daughter of Perfecto “Pete” & Maria Riojas DeLeon. She married Thomas Soto on August 8, 1960 in Seguin, Texas. She was a dietician and worked in Healthcare. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a member of Sacred Heart Choir. She enjoyed sewing and was a talented cook, especially making tamales. Most of all she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and treasured time spent with them. She is survived by her son Ronnie Soto and wife Mary; grandchildren: Ronnie Soto Jr. and wife Najala, Kristina Parkhill and husband Chris, Veronica Tieken and husband Duane, Thomas Soto and Julianna Soto. Also surviving are 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2019 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Reverend Forrest Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at the St. James Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
