Juan Guevara, age 92, of Gonzales, Texas passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021. Juan was born December 3, 1928 to Susan Perez and Catarino Guevara. Juan is survived by daughter Jane Guevara of Gonzales; daughter Esperanza Mejia of Houston; daughter Betty Moreno of Gonzales; son John Guevara Jr of Victoria; son Arthur Guevara of Victoria; son Pete Guevara of Hallettsville; and son Chris Guevara of Schulenburg; sister Amelia Guevara Ramos of Bryan; grandchild Veronica Guevara, grandchild Lisa Anderson, grandchild Rita Soto, grandchild Gilbert Leal Jr., grandchild Maro Leal, grandchild Derrick Leal, grandchild Travis Leal, grandchild April Leal, grandchild Frank Rosales Jr, grandchild Jason Rosales, grandchild Patrick Guevara, grandchild Jessie Guevara, grandchild Ricky Guevara, grandchild Monica Barreta, grandchild Brooki Guevera, grandchild Zeke Guevara, grandchild Courtney Guevara, grandchild Christian Guevara, grandchild Nicolas Guevara, grandchild Alexis Guevara and grandchild Delores Guevara. Mr. Guevara also leaves behind several Great Grandchildren to cherish his memory. Juan was preceded in death by his father and mother; his wife; daughter Delores Leal; and grandson Martin Guevara. Mr. Guevara was also proceeded in death by his brothers: Ramon, Sotero, Felipe, Santiago, Casimiro, & Joe; plus sisters: Epifania, Vicenta, & Lucia. A visitation for Juan will be held Thursday, April 22nd, from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Buffington Funeral Home, 424 Saint Peter St, Gonzales, Texas. A rosary will be said Thursday, April 22nd, at 7:00 PM, at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will occur Friday, April 23rd, at 10:00 AM, at Saint James Catholic Church, Corner of College St. & Saint Lawrence St., Gonzales, Texas. Interment will follow at Saint James Catholic Cemetery, Corner of Saint Andrew and Seydler St., Gonzales, Texas. Serving as pallbearers are Jason Martinez, Jonathon Anderson, Edward Anderson, John 'Buga' Ramos, Jr, Tanner Higginbotham, Javier Valladolid, Pete Guevara, Rubin Arredondo, and Abraham Cavazos. Honorary Pallbearers are Veronica Guevara, Lisa Guevara Anderson, Rita Soto, Jon Edward Anderson, 'Little Joe' Jay Guevara, Jenna Dominguez, Cera Anderson and Caytlyn Molina.
