Obituary for Josephine Martinez Rodriguez
Josephine M. Rodriguez, 75, of Gonzales, Texas gained her wings on Sunday, October 23, 2022 while surrounded by her loving children and family members. Josephine Rodriguez was born on November 6, 1946 in Wharton, Texas. She was the daughter of Julio and Maria Huizar Martinez. She married Luciano Rodriguez Jr. on June 21, 1967 in Gonzales, Texas.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Luciano Rodriguez, daughter, Elizabeth Espinosa (Chris), son, Christopher Rodriguez (Shelly) all of Gonzales . Brother, Guadalupe Martinez (Delia) of San Antonio.
Also, 5 grandchildren, Christopher Jerome Espinosa (Martha Calderon), Cory Gabriel Espinosa (Gysel
Gomez), Alysa Gabrielle Rodriguez, Jace Wayne Shock and Kaleigh Beth Shock. Three greatgrandchildren
Jayla Briann, Avalyne Julianna and Camryn Jerome Espinosa. She is preceded in death by
her parents, son, Gabriel Rodriguez, sisters, Susie Ramos, Reyes Camarillo and brother, Rudy Martinez.
Josie, as she was known to her family and friends, was an awesome daughter, wife, mother and
grandmother. She was a member of the Catholic Church and a caregiver to many children. She was a
homemaker/baby sitter throughout her life.
She enjoyed spur of the moment trips to the beach when her children were young and continued this
tradition with her grandchildren. She loved playing bingo and dominoes especially with her parents and
sisters when they were living. She loved taking care of every child whether it be a family or her friend’s
children. She was a true fan of the San Antonio Spurs and would never miss a game. She was the
number one fan of her grandsons, Jerome and Cory Espinosa when they played football throughout their school years. She also, enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Rehab of Gonzales and Gonzales County EMS. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Texas Nursing and Rehabilitation of Gonzales.
