Joe Douglas Hull, 77, of New Braunfels, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at his residence. Memorial services are under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home and will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 10:00 am at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel in Gonzales, Texas. Joe was born on February 12, 1938 in Moulton, Texas. He was the son of Jeff Johnson and Ruby (Aldridge) Hull. He married Willie Gene Neeley on February 10, 1956 in San Antonio, Texas. Joe was a Deputy Sheriff in Galveston and Lavaca Counties for 18 years. He was also a truck driver for another 10 years before retiring. He was a musician and played lead guitar, violin, rhythm guitar and drums. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years; Willie Gene Hull, one son; Billy Joe Hull and his wife, Sheila of Fredericksburg, Texas, one daughter; Patsy Mikesh of New Braunfels, Texas, five grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren, one brother; Billy C. Hull and his wife, Betty of Gonzales, Texas, and one sister; Linda Bell of Belton, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; Jeff and Ruby Hull, one brother; Arby Hull, one sister; Dorothy Trout, and one son-in-law; Victor Mikesh.
