Jason Barry Shirley, 38, of Gonzales, Texas passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at his residence. Cremation Rites are under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at 2:00 pm at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Paul Smith officiating. Jason was born on October 28, 1980, in Canyon, Texas. He was the son of Ronnie and Gloria (Greenwood) Shirley. Jason was a graduate of Hereford High School in Hereford, Texas. Jason listened to and played all kinds of music, he was a guitarist and a drummer. He enjoyed art, playing X Box with his son on the internet, and fishing. He worked as a carpenter and welder. Jason is survived by his mother and step-father Gloria and Kraig Casey of Englewood, Ohio; one son, Hunter Raiden Shirley of Canyon, Texas; one stepson, Devin Schulte of Canyon, Texas; two brothers, Robert Shirley of Lakeside, Texas, and Dustin Shirley and his wife Loretta of Gonzales, Texas; numerous aunts and uncles; a niece and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Glenn Shirley; and his grandparents, JB and Bertie Greenwood, and Holbert and Blanche Shirley.
