Obituary for Janice Marie Hare (Ruddock)

Janice Marie (Ruddock) Hare 74 passed away Saturday May 29, 2021. She was born in Gonzales, Tx. On May 24, 1947, to Otis Ruddock & Annie Willie (Ables) Ruddock who have preceded her in death along with sister Virginia Ann Irle & brother in-law Bill Irle.

She grew up going to the East Side Baptist Church where she met the love of her life Clifford W. Hare, Jr. while playing volleyball with the group from Memorial Heights Church. They shared a lifetime of friendship & memories with Billy (Bill Smith) from the time they were kids to adulthood.

Janice & Clifford were married November 6, 1965 and shared 55 wonderful years together. In the early years of their marriage Clifford was stationed in Germany where they met Carl Parsons & became best friends. They often explored Europe together when they were on leave. They continued their friendship after returning to the states with him & his wife Karol Parsons.

Janice & Clifford moved to the coast for work where she worked for 17 years for GTE telephone company & made many friends. She loved playing softball on the company softball team.

In 1991 they started building their retirement place back in Gonzales in the country. She loved sitting on the patio in the evenings, tending to her flowers & trees. She was very devoted to her children, grand- children and great grand-children and tried to help them in any way she could. She was very organized and planned everything down to the last detail. She loved traveling and seeing new places & loved doing things with her family as family was very important to her.

She is survived by her husband Clifford W. Hare, Jr., daughters Cynthia (Cindy)Hare Gosch, Candy Hare Kocian, grandsons Cody Mashburn, Tyler Kocian, Justin Gosch, great grand- children Wesley Barr, Luna Kocian and unborn baby Jayce. She is also survived by her brother James (Bubba)Ruddock & his wife Gloria Kay Ruddock, nieces: Donna, Cherry, nephews: Billy, Chad, as well as other family & friends. She was loved by all and will be deeply missed by many.
