Obituary for Hunter Kelly Demyen

Hunter Kelly Demyen, 37, of Gonzales, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022. He was born March 17, 1985 in San Diego, CA to Richard Kelly Demyen and Machelle Neubauer Demyen while his father was serving his country in the United States Navy.

Hunter moved to Austin with his family at an early age. He was educated in Austin and enjoyed playing Xbox and computer games with his many friends. He dearly loved visiting his Momo and Popo’s farm in Gonzales where he enjoyed the countryside, riding horses, driving tractors, and shooting flies with his BB gun. After high school he worked in Austin at Photodex before moving to Gonzales in 2010 where he had enjoyed several jobs. Hunter loved his family, friends, and any animal he came across. He was such a trivia whiz his friends often called him “Trebek” although the spelling might have been different. Hunter was a faithful fan LSU football. Hunter was a gregarious, fun-loving soul with a host of close friends. Certainly, Hunter never met a stranger. He had many passions that included gaming, attending concerts and anything to do with the Star Wars saga. Though his life was short-lived, he had touched many lives that will cherish his memory and the force will be with him, his family and friends.

Hunter is survived by his loving family; grandmother, Betty Neubauer of Gonzales, his best friend and service dog, Prince, aunts, Shanna Neubauer, aunt/Godmother, Stephanie Lanphear (Steve), uncles, Doug Neubauer (Lisa), Bob Demyen (Debbie), stepsister, Payton Demyen, father, Richard Demyen, and several cousins.
