Obituary for Harold Dean Priest

Harold Dean Priest, 81, of Gonzales, Texas passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at his residence. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 10:00 am at Buffington Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas with Pastor Matt Pennington officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday at the Funeral Home. Harold was born on March 5, 1937 in Borger, Texas. He was the son of Herbert Houston and Rena Evelyn (McKinney) Priest. Harold served in the US Marine Corp from 1953 until 1955. He married Karon Bush on July 7, 1988 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He liked to tell stories, and even had a granddaughter believing that he was the one who trained Shamu the whale. He liked to go fishing and spending time outdoors. he played pool and craps and liked to go dancing. He had coffee each morning with the coffee club at the Rodeo Café. He was very family oriented and loved his family. he was a member of the opossum trot. Harold is survived by his wife of 30 years, Karon, four sons; Harold Dean Priest, Jr. of Dallas, Texas, Gregory Darin Priest of Houston, Texas, Timothy Jordan Priest and his wife, Monti of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Byron Jordan Priest and his wife, Jennifer of Camp Pendleton in San Diego, California, one daughter; Sherry Parish and her husband Tony of Alvin, Texas, two brothers; Eric Priest and his wife Cindy of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Mark Priest and his wife, Robin of Miami, Oklahoma, eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, and very special friends; Kim and Mark Stozier. He was preceded in death by his parents; Herbert and Rena Priest, one brother; Pete Priest, and one sister; Wanda Priest. The family request memorials go ta a Charity of Choice.
