Evelyn Alma Kocian, 94, of Gonzales, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022. Evelyn was born July 6, 1928 in Lavaca County to Edwin Carl Neubauer and Alma Sophie Bengsch Neubauer. She married James Franklin Kocian on September 8, 1966 in Gonzales.
Evelyn grew up as an only child and often worked in the fields picking cotton. Evelyn loved to tend to her garden, flower beds and keep a well-manicured lawn. She loved her many dogs dearly, but none was more special than Bridget. As the matriarch of her family Evelyn cherished time surrounded by her family. Certainly, her love for each of them was undeniable and unconditional.
She is survived by her loving children, Donna Moseley (Larry), Wayne Aschenbeck, and Pat Yeschke (Bill), all of Gonzales, grandchildren, Brittany Law, Kristopher Law, Megan Urban (Garett), Sabrina Moseley, Greg Aschenbeck, Danny Aschenbeck (Christina), Alan Aschenbeck, Sara Mercer (Matthew), Kevin Kelso (Diana), Tammy Bell, (Keith), David Huber, Jr., great-grandchildren, Carson, Rylee, Rainey, Grantley, Zhanay, Katelynn, Ashton, Krysta, Kassidy, Joshua, Miranda, Kyle and Blaine, great-great grandchildren, Teagyn, Taylen, Haleigh, Mackensie and Chelsea. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and daughter-in-law, Eugenie Aschenbeck.
Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Friday, November 18, 2022 in the Shiner City Cemetery with Rev. Todd Craven officiating. Pallbearers: Greg, Danny and Alan Aschenbeck, Kevin Kelso, Kristopher Law and Keith Bell. Friends may leave their condolences to the family by visiting www.shinerfuneralhome.com.
