Doris Vecera, 72, of Flatonia, Texas passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Oak Manor Nursing Home in Flatonia, Texas. Funeral Mass is under the direction of Buffington Funeral home in Gonzales, Texas and will be held at10:00 am on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel with Father Eddie Albert Macias officiating. Interment will follow at Gonzales Memorial Park Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday, June 28, 2013 at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel. A Family Visitation will be held from 5:00 ~ 7:00 pm on Friday, June 28, 2013 at Buffington Funeral Home. Doris Estelle Pritchard was born April 29, 1941 in Gonzales, Texas. She was the Daughter of Sidney and Effie (Cowey) Pritchard. For many years, Doris sang in a Gospel Quartet with her sister, Eunice, father, Sidney and friend, Vernon Votaw. Doris was employed by J Bar B Foods in Waelder, Texas for over 33 years. Doris was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. Doris loved to cook, and baked many cakes for events later on in life. Doris loved to knit, and until her last day, she knitted scarfs, blankets, hats and numerous other items for family and friends to cherish. Doris is survived by one son; Bruce Vecera and his wife, Hollye of Centerville, Texas, two daughters, Pamela Beesley and her husband, David of Moody, Texas, Sonja Vecera and her Fiancée, Kenneth of Flatonia, Texas, one sister; Eunice Engelmann of Dallas, Texas, two brothers; Donnie Pritchard and his wife, Patty of Flatonia, Texas, Bubba Pritchard and his wife, Evelyn of Flatonia, Texas, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
