Darrell Wayne Zimmerhanzel, 60, of Bebe, Texas passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at his residence. Funeral Mass is under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas and will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia, Texas with Father Eddie Winkler officiating. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Flatonia, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel in Gonzales, Texas with Deacon Terry Brennan officiating. Darrell was born on March 8, 1955 in Houston, Texas. He was the son of Joe and Stella (Pavilica) Zimmerhanzel. Darrell married Laurie Murphy on July 3, 1980 in Gonzales, Texas. He was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed woodworking. He was the basic outdoors person who liked to go hunting and fishing with his dogs. Darrell was a very organized person. He enjoyed spending time with his family and a few friends. Darrell is survived by his wife Laurie, two sons; Adam Zimmerhanzel and his wife, Erica of Kyle, Texas, Bo Zimmerhanzel of San Marcos, Texas, one sister; Billie Jean Rutherford of Bebe, Texas, one grandson; Isaiah Sanders, two granddaughters; Phoenix Zimmerhanzel, and Tessa Faith Zimmerhanzel. He was preceded in death by his parents: Joe and Stella Zimmerhanzel. Pallbearers for Mr. Zimmerhanzel will be; Dusty Carter, Travis Limebrink, Isaiah Sanders, Cody Zimmerhanzel, Adam Zimmerhanzel, and Bo Zimmerhanzel.
