Obituary for Concepcion Flores

Concepcion (Rivera) Flores, 101, of Gonzales, Texas passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the Texan Nursing & Rehab in Gonzales, Texas. Funeral Services are under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas and will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 11:00 am at Memorial Heights Baptist Church in Gonzales, Texas with Reverend Clint Lowrey officiating. Burial will follow at Gonzales Memorial Park Cemetery in Gonzales, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am at the church prior to the service. Concepcion was born on December 8, 1914 in Chihuahua, Mexico. She was the daughter of Manuel and Delfina (Ortega) Rivera. Concepcion and her parents came to the USA in 1922. She became a Missionary while in her 20 s and served for more than 70 years. She loved working with children, and talking with people about whatever they wished to talk about. She was very open about her love for the lord, and would witness and testify anytime she could. She was a person who never met a stranger. She has read her bible from cover to Cover many times. She was always on the phone talking to friends and family. Concepcion loved her family and church family . Concepcion is survived by three sons; Daniel Flores of Grand Prairie, Texas, Jose Flores and his wife, Oralia of San Marcus, Texas, Alejandro Flores of El Paso, Texas, three daughters; Frances Patlan of Seguin, Texas, Dora Lerma and her husband, Martin of Gonzales, Texas, Stela Lerma and her husband, Joe of Ft. Worth, Texas, two sisters; Isabel Reitz of Phoenix, Arizona, Socorro Stone of Missouri, twenty-eight grandchildren, and thirty-one great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Manuel and Delfina Rivera, one brother, two sisters, two grandchildren; Laticia Flores, and Richard Guerrero.
