Brett Duane Miller, 75, passed away in his sleep Thursday morning, February 27, 2020 in Gonzales, Texas. A fifth generation Texan, Brett was born on August 24, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas to Augustus Elvis (Lefty) and Marion Corene Jacks Miller. He attended college at McMurry University in Abilene and The University of Texas in Austin. He served as U.S.M.C. Sergeant and Company Chaplain during his tour of duty in Vietnam. He also worked construction trades in Abilene and later with Christ Prison Fellowship as a counselor for the Texas prison system.
Brett is survived by his daughter, Meg Miller-Massey, grandchildren, Kylee Miller, Riley Massey, and Ryder Massey, sister, Terese Corinne Bilger, and brother, Gregg Jacks Miller. A private graveside service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Waelder Community Cemetery in Waelder, Texas.
