Barbara Ann Pundt Pilsner, 87, of Gonzales, passed away Friday, August 21, 2020 in San Antonio. Barbara was born July 27, 1933 in Moulton, Texas to Edwin F. Pundt, Sr. and Nee Minnie Zacharias Pundt. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, the Morning Circle and Prayer Group.

Barbara was born and raised in Moulton. She married soon after graduating high school and was blessed with three children. Barbara worked two jobs to put her son Don and daughter Paulette through college. She loved her family and devoted herself to her children, church, and her friends. She delighted in playing bunko with her friends, working in her yard, going on organized trips with her friends, and reading her bible.

Barbara will be remembered as a quiet yet funny lady with a sweetness about her that endeared her to everyone she met. She had a strong will and work ethic in raising her family as a single mom. Barbara lost a bit of her herself with the passing of each of her sons, but her amazing faith in God and love for her daughter kept her from succumbing to life’s tragedies. 1 Corinthians 13:13 reads: “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” Barbara knew this scripture well, for throughout her life she persevered with faith, hope and love, and in the end, it was love that carried her through each day.

Barbara Pilsner is survived by her daughter, Paulette Pilsner of Spring Branch, Texas, sister-in-law, Eleanor Pundt of Houston and a host of loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Edwin Pundt, Jr., and beloved sons, Glen and Don Wayne Pilsner.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2020 in the First Lutheran Church with Pastor Ildiko Rigney officiating. Interment will follow in Moulton City Cemetery. Pallbearer: Julia Arthur, Kathie Widby, Dora Gonzales, and Paulette Pilsner. Caller hours will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2020 in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Don Pilsner Athletic Scholarship Fund in care of Sage Capital Bank 1606 N. Sarah DeWitt Dr., Gonzales, Texas 78629.
