Obituary for Ascencion "John" Rodriguez Jr.
Ascencion “John” Rodriguez, Jr., 76, of Gonzales, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023. He was born June 15, 1946 in Gonzales, the son of Ascencion Rodriguez, Sr. and Vicenta Rodriguez. He was a general contractor doing remodeling, concrete work and bricklaying.
He was a member of St. James Catholic Church. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5090 and served for 50 years from 1973-2023.
John loved life, he loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart.
He is survived by his wife Maria Edith Rodriguez of Gonzales; daughter Linda Rodriguez of Victoria; sons Jesus Rodriguez of Victoria, Ascencion Rodriguez III of Gonzales and Daniel Renteria of Fort Worth; grandchildren Alyssa Molina, Elea Molina, Andre Molina, Jazlynn Rodriguez, Vincente Rodriguez and Jace Rodriguez; great-grandchildren Kolby Gonzales and Kain Molina; sisters Mary Jane Vera-Whalley of Gonzales and Christine Elaine Rodriguez of League City; brother Robert L. Rodriguez of Gonzales.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lisa Maldonado, brother Richard Rodriguez and sister Delfina Schaeffer.
