Angelita “Angie” Garza passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, January 14th, 2023. She was born May, 25, 1944 in Bebe, Tx to her parents Jose and Benita Pena, she worked in Lubbock, Tx with her family, and resided in Gonzales, Tx in the later years of her life.

Angie was a kind spirit, she befriended anyone who came across her path, and made it her mission to help anyone who was in need no matter how tedious the task. Being with children truly warmed her soul, babies brought her so much joy, and she loved being surrounded by family. Angie was a mother who was also a father to her only child and son Rudy Roy Garza, she impacted his life in the most rewarding way by her love and kindness. As an aunt, her nieces and nephews would say “Tia was the coolest”. Her hobbies included plant gardening, sewing, coloring her books, and worshipping the Lord. Her life was cherished by friends and family, and her presence will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband Rogelio “Roy” Garza, her parents Jose Garza Pena and Benita Gonzales Pena, and her siblings Doymi Moreno, Ascencion Martinez, Lucia Rodela, Sebastian Pena, Petra Martinez, Adam Pena, Anselmo Rodela, Antonio Pena.

She is survived by her only child Rudy Roy Garza, her siblings Joe Pena, Jr., Eva Reina, Annie DeLeon, Teresa Pena, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will take place at Seydler – Hill Funeral Home, Thursday from 3:00pm to 6:00pm with a service following at 6:00pm officiated by Pastor Santiago Morales of Prince of Peace Church of Seguin, Tx.

Services for Angelita Garza will proceed in Post, Tx, at a later date, at Hudman Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Terrace Cemetery in Post, Tx where she will be laid to rest.

All services are under the care and direction of Seydler – Hill Funeral Home.
